Top issues during term (6)(General)
Tourism Marketing and Outreach
Advertising and marketing spending comes from tourism revenue and shapes how effectively the city promotes itself to travelers.
Rockport Aquarium concept design
No specific figures were scheduled to be presented, and no funding action was on the agenda.
post-Hurricane Harvey recovery
The city would commit local dollars toward a state-funded disaster recovery project.
fraud alert
Falling for it could mean losing money to a fake bill, while the city spends staff time and credibility on warnings.
yard waste pickup program
No fees or budget details are in the notice, but it could save residents the cost of private hauling or dump trips.
courthouse reconstruction
The drawn-out rebuild likely means higher construction costs and ongoing expenses for temporary facilities, with taxpayers ultimately footing more of the bill.
